What are the procedures for getting videotaped proceedings transcribed?

Transcription of videotaped proceedings must comply with the Washington State Court Rules of Appellate Procedure (RAP) 9.2, Verbatim Report of Proceedings

Only a court-approved transcriber can prepare a verbatim report of proceedings that were videotaped.  As required by RAP 9.2, the Administrative Office of the Courts (AOC) developed procedures for selecting court-approved transcribers. The document "Procedures for Designating Court Approved Video Transcribers" is attached to the bottom of this answer.

Each county may develop its own procedures for designating court-approved transcribers, subject to complying with the AOC provisions of the AOC procedures.

A copy of the procedures is to be available at the court administrator's office in each county where there is a courtroom that videotapes proceedings.  AOC does not maintain copies of those procedures.
