List of Questions

  1. What should I expect after a filing has been completed?
  2. Will I receive a copy of the email sent to parties being served?
  3. I work in an office and file on behalf of an attorney. Will I receive an email or will the attorney?
  4. Will I know if a party being served did not receive a copy of the email?
  5. What should I do if I do not receive a confirmation email?

1.  What should I expect after a filing has been completed?

If your filing completed without errors, a confirmation page will be displayed.

Within about 15 minutes of completion 2 or 3 emails will be sent out by the eFiling application.
  1. An email will be sent to the court you were filing with. The email will contain your information, case information, information about the uploaded documents, a list of email addresses for any parties being served, a transmittal letter, and a link to the uploaded files.
  2. A confirmation email will be sent to your primary email address and, if you have one on file, to your alternate email address. Additionally for office filers, if you were filing on behalf of an attorney, the confirmation email will also be sent to the attorneys primary email and, if on file, the attorney's alternate email. The email will contain a list of uploaded files, a list of email addresses for any parties being served, and a copy of the transmittal letter.
  3. If any parties are being served, an email will be sent to all listed email addresses and will contain your information, case information, a link to each documents filed, and a copy of the transmittal letter.

3.  I work in an office and file on behalf of an attorney. Will I receive an email or will the attorney?

Both. A confirmation email will be sent to your primary email address and, if you have one on file, to your alternate email address. Additionally the confirmation email will also be sent to the primary email for the attorney you were filing on behalf of and, if on file, the attorney's alternate email.

4.  Will I know if a party being served did not receive a copy of the email?

Possibly. While the application cannot guarantee the delivery of the email, you may get notified if a person's email account no longer exists or if that person's email server rejects the email for some reason. This is possible because the email has your email address in the TO: line and additionally the email is coded to send failure notices to your email address as well.
